Twitter erupts over news that Trump ‘betrays’ more national heroes, stealing from the 9/11 fund

While Americans are trying to come to grips with the fact that 193,000 of their own are dead from coronavirus — and President Trump lied to them repeatedly about just how deadly it is — here comes another shocker.

A bombshell report published by New York Daily News Thursday revealed that the Trump administration siphoned around $4 million from a fund set up by New York City Fire Department for its September 11 first responders.

According to the U.S. Treasury, the money was diverted because New York City owed “delinquent debt” to the federal government. But Twitter is not having it on the 19th anniversary of the attacks.

According to documents acquired by the New York Daily News, the Treasury Department began holding back parts of payments intended to cover medical expenses for paramedics, firefighters, and emergency medical techs suffering from illnesses caused by 9/11.

The worst part? They weren’t even notified.

Dr. David Prezant, FDNY’s Chief Medical Officer told the Daily News, “This was disappearing — without any notification. And for years, they wouldn’t even tell us — we never ever received a letter telling us this.”

The deadliest terrorist attack on American soil claimed 2,977 American lives of which 412 were first responders. And those who worked at Ground Zero are continuing to succumb to related illnesses.

Officials say 79,000 first responders have enrolled in the World Trade Center Health Program, and at least 18,000 have been diagnosed with 9/11-related cancer. Systemic autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, are other diseases that the smoke and dust at Ground Zero have brought about.

Those personally affected took to Twitter enraged.

Fred Guttenberg, the father of Parkland school shooting victim Jamie Guttenberg, recalled that his brother died from cancer resulting from 9/11’s devastation.

Even a medical expert who specializes in viruses like Ebola had something to say to that: “Pure evil.”

Trump hates NY?

45 has repeatedly slammed New York for investigating him and has gone after Gov. Andrew Cuomo time and again. He’s made it abundantly clear he hates the city and state.

So many on Twitter wondered how New Yorkers could vote for him.

One Twitter user wrote that the stakes for settling a personal score with New York were too high.

And now he hates heroes too…

Other users of the social media platform also noted that after Trump allegedly called the U.S. military “suckers” and “losers”, he now hates hero firefighters too, so much so that the hashtag #TrumpHatesFirefighters began to trend.

Trump’s “betrayal” to heroes of the nation didn’t go unnoticed.

Remember when the Trump admin announced a 25% federal fund cut for the National Guard?
